Colorado State University, Fort Collins, CO

Wednesday, February 4, 2026 | 6:00 p.m. | Behavioral Sciences Building A101

Camille A. Brown: Giant Steps screening at Colorado State University’s Black/African American Cultural Center and ACT Human Rights Film Festival, a special Black History Month event showcasing an inspiring collection of short films that celebrate the African Diasporic brilliance in all its forms. The theme for CSU’s Black/African American Cultural Center’s 2026 Black History Month is Woven Roots: 100 Years of Commemoration, Lifetimes of the African Diaspora.

This theme acknowledges the centennial of formal Black history commemorations while affirming that the lives, knowledge, and culture of the African Diaspora stretch far beyond 100 years and far beyond the borders of the United States. Woven Roots invites our community to trace the deep roots of the African Diaspora—its histories, its global movements, its artistry, and its enduring wisdom—and to honor how these roots are still shaping, nourishing, and sustaining our collective futures today.
