Co-directed and produced by Indigo Creative Works founder Shellée M. Haynesworth and filmmaker Michelle Parkerson, GIANT STEPS is an intimate portrait of visionary choreographer and director Camille A. Brown. A five-time Tony-nominated artist, Brown is redefining the landscape of American performance—bringing the language of African diasporic movement to Broadway stages, television screens, and classrooms across the nation.
This MNFF11 screening marks another exciting milestone in the film’s journey, spotlighting Camille’s powerful storytelling through dance and her deep commitment to celebrating Black identity, community, and cultural legacy. From her roots in Jamaica, Queens, New York, to her groundbreaking choreographic work on Broadway blockbusters like Hell’s Kitchen and GYPSY.
